The climate is hot and dry, with long summers whose temperatures often raise over 40ºC. Winter is short and cold, with minimum temperatures of 2ºC. The region enjoys a very high annual average of between 2,800 and 3,000 hours of effective sunlight.

All these factors, together with the characteristics of the Pedro Ximenez (PX) grape variety, allow the extraction of musts of 14º Baumé which, after fermenting, produce wines of over 15% natural alcohol (not fortified). Sun, hot and dry environment make possible the asoleo (sunning), origin of our famous Pedro Ximénez sweet wine.
